Soul Reminders were conceived as a gift to offer revelers at an annual alternative art festival. Their creation was inspired by the story of a close friend who found himself alone and in despair one night in the festival's central area.

A beautiful older woman noticed my friend's condition and offered what assistance she could: she sat next to him and spent the next 20 minutes soothing him with kind words. His energy finally began to shift and, soon after she left, he pulled out of his despair and was able to enjoy the rest of his night. He never forgot the woman and her act of kindness.

A few years later, as my wife and I pondered what to bring as a gift, we remembered this story. We realized we wanted to offer a something similar—something to remind fellow festival-goers of their intrinsic beauty and innate divinity—even if we weren't in their immediate vicinity.

As we handed out the cards, people would smile and ask what they were. After reflecting on their purpose, we began answering, "Reminder cards…soul reminders." They got such a great response that we decided to expand on the idea and share it with the rest of the world. Soul Reminders were born.

After spending nearly 10 years in the publishing industry, I felt a calling to start my own graphic design business. Creativity, communication, and connection are passions of mine and graphic design seemed the best way to merge these passions in the service of others.

When the idea for Soul Reminders hit, I knew that it was time to redirect whatever time and energy it would take to get them out into the world. I created Dive Deep Press to help facilitate their journey. But Soul Reminders cards are just the beginning. Other cards and decks are currently in development and I'm always working on more designs.
